A legal counsel with extensive experience in advising financial institutions, specialising in capital markets law, securities law and civil law in its broad sense.
She has many years of experience in the day-to-day legal service of financial institutions, including investment fund management companies (TFIs), advising among others on organisational structure, corporate and regulatory matters and the ongoing service of investment funds. She actively advises clients on shaping their relationships with counterparties, which includes in particular negotiating specialist contracts such as fund investment portfolio management agreements, sub-participation agreements, receivables assignment agreements, as well as cooperation and investment agreements. She represents businesses before common courts and public administration authorities, with particular focus on proceedings before the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (PFSA). Her experience also includes conducting merger control proceedings on behalf of clients before the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK).
She comprehensively supports businesses in adapting to new and rapidly changing legal regulations – at both national and EU level. She applies her compliance experience to the implementation of AML procedures in obliged institutions, as well as GDPR, MAR, MiFID and other key regulations.
A graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University and of the School of American Law (a programme run by the Faculty in cooperation with The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.). She completed postgraduate studies in intellectual property law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University. She continually broadens her knowledge by attending numerous specialist training courses on AML, compliance, personal data protection (GDPR) and the functioning of the capital market. She is a co-author of a commentary on the Act on Investment Funds and the Management of Alternative Investment Funds.
